Dear Host Family

My name is Orraya or you can all me Kim. I am 25 years old. I have a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Industry and Hospitality Management from Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. I haveI a Nursing assistant certification from Simaborirak Child and Elderly School. In this program, I learned about infants and toddlers. I have an understanding of child development and learning including how to take care of children from a newborn to preschool including bathing, taking care for a sick child, cooking, basic life support and first aid, and supporting breastfeeding mom.

Regarding childcare experience, I have over 3500 hours with children form newborn to 12 years old.

My first childcare experience was with my little nephew in my family, from July 2013 to August 2015, since we lived in the same house, I cared for him from birth until he was 2 years old every day after school and on weekends.

When I was in university, I was a tutor for 3 years. I taught children from ages 9 to 12 years old in many subjects such as Thai, English, and Mathematics.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic. I have taught online Art class for children from 4 to 6 years old such as easy drawing, printing and coloring.

September 2021 to October 2021, I helped my neighbor take care of 4 children, 3 and 5 years old girl, 22 months old boy and 5 years old boy for two months.

October 2021, I volunteered at KidAble Language Preschool as a teacher assistant to gain more experience about children. There were 10 kids, ages from 2 to 5 years old.

October 2021 to February 2022,  I took care of a 3 years old boy, half Thai half American from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM and during some weekend if they have a zoo or farm trip.

April 9th to 19th 2022 – I worked as nanny part-time for Norwegian family, they came to Thailand for holiday. I cared for 6 years old boy.

With my childcare experience, I am capable of dressing, changing diapers, preparing milk and snack, preparing bottles, feeding, bathing, potty training, putting them to bed, fixing their hair and helping them with their homework and classes. I did many activities with children such as art and craft, coloring, drawing, printing, swimming, playing, biking, dancing, reading book, modeling cray, watching cartoons or documentary, singing, playing with blocks and jigsaw, building Legos, doing a puzzle, playing various board games, going to farm and zoo, and feeding animals. I could take care of different kids with various backgrounds and personalities. To improve my knowledge about children, I took a childcare training course on my own ‘New Staff Orientation – Working with Infants and Toddlers’ Penn State Better Kid Care Program.

I have a driver’s license, I rarely drive a car, about 1-2 times per week to supermarket or shopping mall and I could bike too.

About my family, I am an only child. When I was young, I spent most of my time with my grandparents in Chaiyaphum province. I left my hometown to Bangkok to study at university. Since I graduated, I have lived with my parents and 2 cats in Nonthaburi province.

The reason why I would like to be an au pair are that it allows me to experience a new culture, learn a foreign language, meet new people, visit new places, try new food, to be a part of family, but most importantly, take care of children with love and care.

After the au pair program, I plan to continue my education in the healthcare field because it is in high demand and allows me to help people and care for them, make a difference in their lives daily.

I would describe myself as an open-minded person, optimistic, cheerful, flexible, calm, creative, helpful, careful, generous, kind, good sense of humor and honest.

In my spare time, I love spending my time traveling, reading, cooking, doing arts and crafts, drawing, printing and watching movies. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking , diving, cycling and jogging. My favorite book and movie is Harry Potter. I’m a big fan of Marvel Studios.
